Quartz Pistol, Capital Waste and The Mill present Nature Vs Nurture an exploration of creative form and process told through the experience of one woman raised on beautiful Peramangk country. From singing on the porch with her father to touring the world in many handmade costumes, Quartz Pistol, also known as Abbey Howlett takes you on an intimate journey through the trials and joys of being an artist.
With the natural world as her core inspiration Quartz Pistol explores how humans quantify extinctions and the damage caused to our Mother through art and performance. In collaboration with Capital Waste AKA Liam Somerville, Abbey will share three sets of original compositions displaying the evolution of her sonic and visual work.
The Mill is South Australia’s leading multidisciplinary arts organisation. It achieves its vision by fostering the interconnection between creatives and audiences through programming and presentation. It enables creative and artistic works of social, cultural, and economic value for the benefit of the wider community.
