A hybrid visual art and live music exhibition which explores vinyl albums, merch design and the collaborative culture surrounding music creation. The collection features work by a group of Adelaide-based visual artists, each creating album covers and merchandise for imaginary bands or musicians.
This closing party will feature live music performed by a “fake band” featuring members of The Empty Threats and Placement, joined by contemporary pianist Gabriella Smart.
Curated by Annelise Forster, Nicholas Hanisch and Timothea Moylan, Fake Record Shop is a group exhibition featuring Adelaide-based artists Jasmine Crisp, Annelise Forster, Nicholas Hanisch, Jake Holmes, Barry Magazinovic, Timothea Moylan, Billy Oakley, Valentina Pepe, Rosina Possingham and Cassie Thring. The exhibition and launch event are presented in collaboration with Urban Cow Studio - Adelaide's East End mecca for artists and art lovers. Currently displaying artwork by over 150 South Australian artists and designers, the gallery and shop are a feast for the senses, with a new surprise around every corner.
